Makeup Course.

Hey all,
I've been seriously MIA. I know. I was waiting for exciting things to happen, so i didn't bore you with pointless banter! Basically i mentioned in one of my blog posts way back when, that I was going to be doing a short-course in Makeup for Film and Television at Bournemouth Arts University.

Last Wednesday was my last three hour class and in that lesson I was allowed to do any style of Makeup that i wanted. I love a bit of the high fashion, so i went for that. Through out the course we have done aging, special effects wounds, 50's pin up, Geisha, 60's mod and high fashion. I really enjoyed the course and learned a little. I treated it much like a tester to see what my forte is and what I enjoy most. Alas, i cannot pick one area, so i think I'm going to train in all of them.

I thought i would give you examples of the make-up i have completed on my short course:

I strongly recommend anyone who's considering a career in Makeup Artistry to do some form of taster or short course to find out which part, of the massive field that is Makeup, you enjoy most or are best at. Just so you don't spend two years being trained in Bridal makeup if you want to be doing prosthetics! For me, high fashion and special effects were definitely my favourite!

80's Funk.

Did some more make-up on my best friend. This time i wanted to do something bright and springy, as the weather's been much nicer recently. I'm feeelin' the brighter colours right now.

Eyes:

Coastal scents 88 palette lime green
Barry M liquid liner - Black
Bourjois Metallic eyeliner pencil - Teal
Kryolan palette - white in waterline
Coastal scents 88 palette - Black, to fill eyebrows
Top lashes - Eyelure
Bottom lashes - red cherry lashes cut up.

Face:

Collection 2000 illuminating concealer
No7 transluscent powder
Touch of stargazer white shadow over the top to pale her out.
Kryolan concealer wheel to contour (darkest colour)
Coastal scents 88 palette - White to highlight cheek.

Lips:
Lady gaga lipstick mixed with a hot pink eyeshadow.

This look was inspired by this picture:

Saw it and instantly wanted to try it!!
My friend Sian has much softer features than the model in the picture, so i changed a few things. I made the lip a little darker (but still bright) and her eyebrows dramatic to frame her face.

Thanks for looking (:
